A large international insurance company needed a new customer data search technology to replace its existing legacy system. The new system had to be cost effective, performant, reliable, and integrate seamlessly with the existing system landscape. The challenge was to handle the large volume of existing data and implement the solution within the planned timeframe.
After a comprehensive analysis of the existing system landscape, the final decision was made to implement a free enterprise search platform. The first step was to gradually initialize the relevant search fields for people, which were then systematically expanded to include business and contract fields. This approach provided a comprehensive search and avoided the need for an expensive fallback solution.
A comprehensive search engine was implemented based on the Enterprise Search platform and analytics engine. This now allows searches on customer, contract and business data. Building on this, a full-text search was implemented for front-end and back-end systems based on the entire data set.
